Five minutes of preparation gets you a noticeably better detail. Here is what actually helps, and what you can safely skip.
CLEAR PERSONAL BELONGINGS
This is the one that matters most. Every item left in the car is an area we work around rather than clean. Empty the glovebox and console if you want them done, take valuables and paperwork out, and clear the trunk. Car seats can stay if you would rather refit them yourself — just tell us in advance.
TELL US WHAT YOU ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT
Detailers are not mind readers. If there is a stain on the passenger seat that has been bothering you for a year, point at it. If the wheels matter more to you than the interior, say so. Specific priorities change how we allocate time within the same appointment, and the result is better for it.

- —Mention pets, smoking or a spill that sat for a while
- —Flag any existing damage: chips, peeling clear coat, cracked trim, aftermarket wrap or coating
WHAT YOU CAN SKIP
Do not wash the car first — we would rather see the true condition, and a fresh wash tells us nothing about how it behaves when dirty. Do not apply anything to the interior beforehand. And do not apologize for the state of it; genuinely, we have seen worse this week.
PRACTICAL DETAILS FOR A MOBILE VISIT
Leave a parking space with room to open all the doors. Shade or a garage bay helps in summer. If the property is gated or the building needs notice, arrange it before the appointment window rather than during it.
